Well my one Martian ship from a few months ago grew into two ships (one still in progress).  Now I have plans for a diorama showing the two ships aboard a space station preparing for a mission.

To go with this diorama I knocked out a couple of quick models.

1.  A Colonial Marines Armored vehicle.

The M27B3 Mongoose is a wheeled armored vehicle with a crew of two and capability to carry 5 infantry troops.  The Mongoose is armed with a 50mm electromagnetic railgun and a twin-round SPAM missile launcher, usually loaded with 1 EMP missile and 1 fission.  A boarding airlock in the rear allows for rapid deployment/recovery of troops.  The Mongoose is electrically powered through a GE 319N Reactor/Generator pack.  The 6 wheels can raise and lower to accomodate different terrain.  In the lowered position the Mongosse fits under the Talon lander and can be carried on the external attach points.

2.  A ground service vehicle.

Used aboard Earth orbital stations and most vessels larger than the US John Glenn/UK Prince of Wales class ships.  The Ford Motors GSE144-C is a standardized chassis that can be adapted for specialized roles.  The model shown is a weapons carrier, as indicated by the red wheels and red painted front.  This model is shown with 7 SPAM missiles on the aft rack and the robotic loading arm in the extended position.  The red and yellow noses on the SPAM misiles indicate fission warheads.

When the Crusader ship I posted a few days ago is finished I'll start putting together a diorama with some modified US Army figures and USN deck crew standing in for Colonial Marines and ship handlers.

The Mongoose:

This started life as a Revell 1/72 Bradley.  I've never done much with armor, but I love these little things.  I think I'll be doing more tanks and stuff, both OOB and whif.

The turret is cut from an easter egg and the gun is scratchbuit from styrene tube and strip.

Since the Bradley had a beautiful opening rear door but a hollow interior, I built and airlock.  The tops cut from a couple of the wheels to make them fit served as wheel arches and I added a non-slip floor made of fine sandpaper.  A few bits glued onto the bulkhead and some decals made it look a bit better and then I added some accesories; a fire extinguisher, a couple of first aid kits and a rifle made from a 1/72 Thompson SMG.  I built another rifle from a Garand, but decided that the SMG would be the gun fitted as standard equipment inside the airlock.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Awesome stuff buddy!

The Weapons Carrier.

This is from the Hase. USN deck set with a firetruck.  The firetruck became a weapons carrier with very little modification.  I added stryrene strip missile racks and a robot arm made of landing gear parts.  A safety railing was added behind the seat made from styrene rod and a seatback was made from putty on styrene strip.

Non-skid areas of sandpaper were added and the drivers area was given a small dashboard, windscreen, joystick controller and pedals.  The missiles are 1/144 CBUs from a Dragon F-15E kit.

For non-skid surfaces, I learned that you can use "terra cotta" spray paint for this application.  You can thank Lemon Jello for that information since he mentions it in his V-22 Gunship thread on Armorama.

I like what you have done to the Bradley, regarding the interior air-lock and your attention to the little details.

Too freakin' cool!  I'm glad you took the detour to Mars!

If I ever get off my backside and finish my Martian fighter I wanted to make some ground support armor to go with it too.  I picked up a Merkava tank to adapt to Mars and I still want to pick up a Canadian Grizzly APC to go with it.

Thanks for the inspiration...suddenly my Mars project is whispering to me again  :)

Oh, I almost forgot, the airlock is brilliant!

Let me put this as succinctly as possible: We really don't give a damn if these are consuming your life. We don't care if they drive you stark raving mad. Your fans demand more production and more pictures, and we want them now.

When will you be posting more? Don't wait for the translation, answer the question: WHEN WILL YOU BE POSTING MORE?!?!?!
