Late Friday afternoon I finished my Lippisch P 13a, my other two models that I have also been working on will be finished this Sunday.

This pic is not very good since it was taken in the late afternoon on a very damp cloudy day, next week I should have better pics of this model and the other two as well.

I dunno, I believe the gloomy sky background actually makes the photo.
Well that, and the fact that your model is positively stunning, of course!   ^_^

Thanks John!

I also like the gloomy looking sky effect, but I had trouble with getting a decent focus with the low light conditions.

These digital cameras (at least mine) need plenty of light to work well.

The picture looks fine, and nice job on the model, too!

A nice overcast day, as long as it's not too dark should actually be better for photographing this kind of stuff.  Put the sun over your left shoulder and shoot away!

The Rat

Looks good from here! And as for the pilot being a bit blurry, maybe he'd been out at the pub all night.  ^_^

The photo looks pretty good to me. Has That washed out colour look of those early colour photo's.

I have built this kit myself and your's looks a treat.

You've done it again mate - great work - and I agree with the others re the photo, actually looks better gloomy, could even be Wagnerian which would be very apt

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Outstanding as usual Matrix.  Like the othes here, I love the gloomy look of the shot. It makes it somehow more real. How you manage to do it, I don't know, but you always produce masterpieces on here.

As for using digitals camera's, in my experience they can be pretty crap. Personally I prefer to use my trusty 35mm and have the pics put onto CD-rom for uploading.

Great stuff as always mate.  :)

And yes, the clouds look good...

Great model Matrixone. And like the rest of the guys, I like the picture also. The gloomy sky ads lots of effect and as for it beeing not realy sharp, hey, them old pictures usualy aren't that sharp.
If you do want it to be sharper, a touch of the old photoshop can do a lot, or try Neat Image. Small program that can work miracles.

I was thinking "Star Wars" myself and it is a real head turner. That is a great photo of a great model!

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Thank you noxioux, The Rat, Sisko, NARSES 2, lancer, Davey B, Patrick H, cthulhu 77, and Leigh!

Yes the Li P13a does look almost like a sci-fi spaceship, Dr. Lippisch also helped design the Me 163 and after the war ended he came to the USA and worked for Convair and designed XF-92 test a/c.
The basic design of the Space Shuttle borrowed many of Dr. Lippisch's ideas for high speed a/c.

Here is one more pic of my Li P 13a model, I tried taking pics today and almost ruined my photography base when a rain shower forced a very sudden end to my attempts at taking any new pics today! I was able to take a small number of pics before the rain fell.

I gotta admit I really like that first photo, it really has the look that you get just before a thunderstorm hits  :ar:

Thanks nev!

It did rain very heavy less than an hour after that pic was taken. Springtime on the Oregon coast has very unpredictable weather, it can change from hour to hour and often does! In about another six weeks it should be good weather for taking pictures outside and in the meantime I am building some new models to photograph, some of them are turning out very good(so far).
