Thick, sharp tracing paper would best describe it. Not at all absorbent so heaven help you if you have the runs and it's all that's available!

The really old timers talked about using last year's Sears and Roebuck catalog in the outhouse. This sounds the same. Obviously the people who invented it never used it!
