Hi, I run the Alvis HMLC 6 x 6 Stalwart Group on Facebook, and have the HMLC and Bedford website.
We've seen quite an influx of modellers on the group, since Airfix launched their 1:35 models of the Stalwart. And we support a couple of manufacturers who make additional bits for the Airfix kit

So I just wanted to suggest a What if model for you. We know that Alvis displayed a Mark 1, with Swingfire mounted in the back. It is reported that the armour layered around the cab was actually plywood.

I am assured that the item on the cab roof, where the spotlight would be, is actually the same Swingfire sight as mounted on the FV438.
It is presumed that the boxed in area behind the missile bays at the back of the vehicle, is where all the electronics for the system is housed. The Stalwart's rear louvre area of course has to be kept clear, as the engine and radiator heat escapes up through this area.

This version of Swingfire never went into production, which I thought makes it a great model for the What if modellers.

I would imagine that if development had continued, then the cab armour would have included louvers for the windows, like the M270 missile launcher - which was later changed to much thicker armoured glass. So the cab could be widened, to replicate a layer of armour.

So I wondered if anyone was up to the challenge to make a Swingfire Stalwart?
