Hycote paints at The Range

Seen a few people complaining that Halfords paints have gone downhill because they aren't made by Hycote any more.

I've just noticed that retailer The Range stock Hycote paints, and they've got 280 branches so there's a decent chance there's one near you.

Their website's a bit odd: it doesn't show Hycote in their list of brands, and when you do a search on it, only blacks and lacquer come up. However I've been in the Stockport branch this morning and there's a whole rack of them there. A fair range of specific car colours, plus generic black/white/varnish/primer etc...

An excellent call, the Chatham branch has a pretty substantial selection too if you find yourself in the luxurious Medway towns. I spotted them at the weekend but failed to raise the alarm, evidently lacking the community focus and kind soul of you, Weaver!

And Hycote tell you the real name of the paint colour too, they don't hide it under an inscrutable code no. that even Halfords staff can't decode!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Erm, I've been banging on about Hicote and The Range for two years!  I switched when the cobbing runts that are Halfords jacked up the price of their primer to over 12 notes.

If you don't have a Range nearby, try one of the little automotive supply shops.  I've got two near me and both stock Hicote, although admittedly the smaller cans.

Interesting. My nearest branch say's it's in Penge, but looking on the map it's just at the bottom end of Crystal Palace Park (Penge West) which is the nicer end  ;D  So if the weather holds I may take a stroll through the park next week, visit the dinosaurs, who've just had a wash and brush up, on the way

I watched one of the apprentices at work deliberate for at least twenty minutes about which picture of a crystal park dinosaur would be his PC wallpaper last year. I had to respect the dedication to choosing the right one.

We used to love seeing them as toddlers, in the 50's, and toddlers still do to this day. Something in this mad world of ours that has stayed the same

There's still just something about dinosaurs... *

Which is probably why the Jurassic Park franchise is still so popular.

*Sadly, it hasn't translated to any more popularity for this particular Dinosaur, but ah well.  ;D
