Started clearing out the garage today (everything got thrown in there when we moved in and of course only gets removed when it's needed) and came across my Grandad's photo album from his time in the Army Air Corps in the fifties.

AOP.9 (My Grandad's favourite, he always longed for a model of one and the closest he ever got was a vacform kit I found and got shipped over from the states but he never got around to building because he wanted some practice building vacforms first. It must be in the shed at the folks' still, so I imagine I'll also never get round to building it because I want some practice first!)

EP9 (Had to look it up!)

Funny looking plane!
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

Great photos! I'm sure you are keeping these.

Absolutely! There's some more pics that I'll share eventually, RAF hunters and Luftwaffe Sabres and the like.

An EP9?

A real rarity, one of only two flown by the AAC in the 50s-60s.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Indeed, I had no idea what it was until I looked up the tail number.

I've also got a photo album of his full of air show pictures, unsure if it's all one show or several. If it is all one show, it was at Duxford, and there's a Catalina in Dutch markings, a Short Sandringham (I'm pretty sure,) an F111 on the ground and a Concorde flying with some prop fighters.
