I thought I'd add this since I've been working on it for a while now (a year maybe?). Those who remember Robotech from growing up in the 1980's, and general Macross fans will recognise the Destroid Monster.

So kits are readily available in 1/200 from Bandai/IMAI, but I only work in The Gentleman's scale. Unfortunately, the couple of kits in 1/72 that have appeared over the years are no longer available, and were always limited short run things. But. I have a 3d printer, and access to the internet, which is where I found some .stl files of this beastie for £11 on Cults3d..... Well, it would have been rude not to.....

So without adding a year's worth of waffle, I've done 2 test prints (which took aggggeeeeeessssss). I'm at the stage of actually building up the sub assemblies ahead of lots (and lots) of filling and sanding. Here's the top half....

The biggest issue is going to be decals. So, I've ordered one of the 1/200 kits in order to scan those decals (the kit will be up for sale after if anyone is interested). Then I can put them into Inkscape, learn to use Inkscape, and then get them printed. I mean, how hard can it be?

The gun barrels.  Electrical conduit?

<edit>  No, just googled.  It's water pipe isn't it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

OMG. I have the ARII 1:160 kit/model (which was apparently never re-issued, just the smaller 1:200 kit), and it's already HUGE!
Looking forwards to see this materialize.

Any chance you could scan the decals for me? The 1:200 kit arrived today, but most of the small "text" on the decals is just blobby shapes that look like 1:200 text, and which will look awful in 1:72

No, my Monster has been built maybe 35 years ago, so there's no sheet to scan.
Maybe look for some Ma.K. aftermarket sheets? I once had a quite vast and crisp sheet with unit markings and lots of mecha stencils in black, grey and white - intended for 1:20, but due to the sheer size it would certainly work in 1:72, too. Not certain where I got it from, but IIRC it was a separate item, probqabyl bought off of ev!lbay, many moons ago.

You may find something similar on Ali Express; IIRC they have a lot of 1/20 transfers, which AFAIK is the chosen scale for things Ma.K - but there're other scales also.
