Does anyone have experience of using Facebook Marketplace? In regards to selling kits etc?

I'm having a clearout and it seems like an easy and free method to get rid of stuff. But are there any downsides?

There are a lot of scammers on Facebook unfortunately, being a seller, you should be a bit safer, but I am not a gambling man, so I would not go there personally.

As a seller you should be fine, but if the customer wants to pick it up from you, arrange to meet in a public place, like a coffee shop. I have a friend who regularly sells things on facebook, and he always goes to his local McDonald's or Tim Horton's when he meets up with a customer. A far as buyingi I only buy from people in the area, so that I can drive there and get it instead of sending payment and trusting them to send the product. ebay has an option to select 'nearest first' for purchases.

i hate selling on FB Marketplace, 99% of the responses are from fake profiles, scammers and phishers!
last time i tried to sell something, i had 20 responses in the first hour, all of them obviously fake!

give aways were responses from people living outside my country, people with double first names, or names so ridiculous that they just cant be taken seriously.
when i comes so selling kits on Facebook, i prefer selling via the private model-selling groups, much more reliable.
