There was a pic of a Reaper made from a Meteor by removing the engines from the wings and placing them on the fuselage A-10 style. Then pack the nose full of guns. I've been searching for that pic but I can't find it.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Nice one Colin.

One point about the text, if I may? It says the tip tanks were adopted to free up the underwing pylons. My understanding has always been that the tip tanks were fitted to replace the belly tank, thus freeing up the fuselage for extra pylons.

Quite right, I've amended the website now. There was a picture taken at the Farnborough Airshow showing a belly mounted gun pack along side the prototype, however it looked just like a standard tank with gun troughs mocked up, so we didn't include it.

Thanks,
Colin

That's interesting: at SMW I was talking to the guys on the Wingleader books stall and bought their Meteor F.8/FR.9 book. It (and they) said that the Reaper was also intended to carry a 57mm gun, but that this was in the lower forward fuselage, not a pack. There's no illustration of this.
