Last night I posted pics of a couple of watercolors I had done a few year back.  Thanks for all the comments guys, I wish my talents were broader than aircraft, but such is life I guess...

Anyway, I have one last one, it's an A-4KU in Kuwaiti colors from the 91 Gulf War when the aircraft that escaped to SA were painted with "Free Kuwait" markings.

I always loved the A-4 and think it's cool to see one not in USN/USMC colors every now and then.  My wife bought me a 1/48 Argentine A4 from the 82 war for Christmas a few year ago.  ONe of these days I'll build it if I can decide between the stock Argie scheme or make it as a bird rushed into service with a European air arm during the USSR's failed attempt to take West Germany back in '78.

Ahh...so many possible pasts and futures with so little time to spend fiddling with models

Anyhoo, here's the A4KU I painted.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

always did like that paint job on the A-4

Nice peice of work there
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

magnificent.

must try my hand at painting planes again one day - on the go at the moment for me are a couple of acrylics...a family of baboons, and a vulturine guineafowl pair (and they really aren't helping me get any planes built!!)

I missed the last ones, so I had to hunt around for a minute to find the other post.  That's some pretty nice work, man.

Watercolors can be pretty temperamental, but they are more forgiving than acrylics.  They never really appealed to me as a medium, but that doesn't really have anything to do with anything.

Have you done any paintings complete with backgrounds, too?

Gary

Wowsers!

That is so cool!
