Thanks H, it is a bit obscure, but I saw it at Oshkosh in the early 2000s, and was entranced. It looked SO good and quick too, even with that tiny prop on the back.

I could have added wet wings to the backstory I suppose, that would have sorted the range issue.

If the point was to keep it simple, small tip-tanks might have been a good alternative. They'd have span-loaded the wing a bit, provided some end-plate effect, and been much simpler than wet wings for a small manufacturer or a homebuilt.
