get any flying things unless the Navy says yes. They have no independent
purchasing authority in regards to aviation.
;)

How did they get their Harriers past the Admirals?

But as this is WhiffWorld the Admirals DID say yes to the Buccs...........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Looks great!

One minor point if I may? Wouldn't the USMC use US-pattern LAU-series rocket pods rather than those RN-pattern Microcell ones? They certainly did on their Harriers.

That does look good Tom

I remember seeing some footage of a Red Flag excercise where a Buccaneer is flying between some sand dunes where you can hear a US female controller going "holy poo-poo, look at this guy".  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

They were finally "convinced" to allow Harrier but by whom has always been a bit murky
and you know that the Marines had to have lost something in exchange for approval.
'Tis how the game is played.

Quote from: zenrat on October 22, 2025, 01:55:40 AMI'm trying to visualise a Bucc in USAF SEA camo.  Any one here built or drawn one?

Fred, sort of, the RAAF F-111 scheme which was mostly SEA type on a Buccaneer in RAAF Service. Something that might/should have happened

I have a plan for a RAN FAA or RAAF Bucc (with Exocets).  It might need to be in full on USAF SEA.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

A Buccaneer in Glossy Sea Blue. I love it.
