If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Nice.

One 1.1kg 50mm HE shell isn't going to sink anything much larger than a dinghy
with one shot, and certainly not a warship. AP rounds would just go through the
vessel in most cases. What works for something as small as a tank or as lightly
built as aircraft is not going to be all that effective against a vessel. The B-25G
and B-25H could, and did, make multiple hits with their 75mm guns and it wouldn't
sink the vessel, especially warships, nor was it effective against the majority of
transports and cargo ships. They managed to sink some smaller landing type boats,
but it was more a matter of luck than anything else. The multiple .50s, followed by
skip-bombing, was far more effective.

It was much harder to sink a boat or ship than to destroy an aircraft, or tank, in the
pre-missile age, especially warships which were designed to slug it out at a distance
with other warships, all with guns that were far larger than a 50mm round.

The dogs philosophy on life.
If you cant eat it hump it or fight it,
Pee on it and walk away!!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.
