If you're old enough I'm certain you've read the joke about the big ship and a mysterious light at night.  Sometimes it's a battleship, sometimes an aircraft carrier, a famous liner.
The BB is a 1/1800 scale Tennessee, which was part of another whiffy dio where she was brought back for service off Korea to spare the newer BBs for upgrades and service around Europe.
I don't know which lighthouse, I could look it if if you're curious.  It came from a sea-themed wreath that gradually fell apart.

Naturally the joke requires it to be nighttime, but then you wouldn't see the models.  ;D

You cannot view this attachment.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Are we sure this is a joke/urban legend? Perhaps we should re-hire the Mythbusters to investigate as to whether it is Plausible or Busted.  ;D  ;D  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

The version I know involves a USN cruiser, a thick fog, an early radar set and the Sule Skerry lighthouse.

One version I heard involved an entire US Naval task force and a Canadian lighthouse... ;)
