Gondor

Don't worry about what I am doing Lee, so don't give me anything to help a build that I have not started, it could be decades before I get around to starting them.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Is that resin Highball insert intended to fit a Wyvern too, or was that scheme just one of Their Naval Lordships crazy ideas?

I was wondering how it would fit between the  Python's exhaust pipes..................

Nice to see a Skybirds Hornet in build, I must have a look at mine when I'm home. Like yours they're bulging out of the already opened boxes!  :o

I guess the original Eagle-engined Wyvern might take it (but I don't know), but yes, the Clyde- or Python-engined versions would seem problematic.

Ah yes, the Eagle was a MONSTER engine but it didn't have two drain pipes running down each side of the fuselage!

Must admit I find the idea of a Highball armed Hornet absolutely fascinating. Seems a perfect candidate for the BPF

I like the idea too Chris.

And I have several Special Hobby Hornets.

Who does the Highball set in 1/72?

Mine are cloned Paragon, but Blackbird did a set.

Too late, they didn't begin converting the Hornet to Highball until '48.  Given that the US was most unhappy about the Highball Mosquitoes in '45 and all the suitable targets had been sunk by then, a BPF one isn't really feasible. One in Korean War stripes going up against North Korean dams though?

Sounds reasonable

Since when has 'feasibility' been a factor in our modelling?  ;)  ;D

Yours perhaps, I prefer something a bit more grounded.

IIRC Highballs were designed for anti-shipping use.  Would they have enough bang to take out a dam?
A question of size I suppose.  ISTR James Hollands Dam Busters book stating that the results of blowing up model dams were easy to scale up to the Ruhr Dams which would indicate Highballs would work on dams if they were small enough.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.
