Most interesting!  I really must re-read John Winton's  "The Forgotten Fleet"  that Rheged minor bought for me as a birthday present some time ago.

I keep looking at BPF carrier photos wondering which pilot is my  old  Carlisle Grammar School English master;  who flew Seafires and Corsairs in this conflict.

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

I keep looking at old BPF photos and trying to spot my dad  ;D

One of the interesting aspects of BPF carriers, and one I only recently found out, was that 25% or so of the pilots were New Zealanders, and a fair number had been transfered over from the RAF towards the end of the War in Europe.

I didn't know that (amongst all the other stuff that I also don't know), and it suddenly opens up a whole new set of markings options for WW2 Kiwi aircraft...
Which I'm not entirely sure is a good thing, but it's out there now, so may have to be taken into consideration for future builds...

I'd of thought there was enough out there already. They seemed to change their national markings every month or so ?  ;D

No serriously, I like the options you get with Commonwealth AF markings throughout the entire Pacific theatre or theatres.

Have to admit I've become increasingly interested in BPF stuff, plus Tiger Force.  The latter is of course prime 'alternative history' subject matter.

Perhaps the evolution of Pacific Theatre British and Commonwealth national markings is a trigger.

"I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..." :-\

I liked Spinners' take on a 2-tone Blue Kiwi Roundel for the Pacific Theatre. Maybe a normal Roundel, but in the 2 blues...
