This is the second SPALAH figure I've built from their line of "STALKER" figures, "Scientist SSP-99 "Ecologist":

The vented cover for the scientist's instrument was lost at some point between printing and my getting the figure ready for paint. There were some minor print defects - a hole at the top of the figure's head and some minor delamination at the right elbow. That said... I painted - and stripped - this figure 7-8 times: I didn't get the black primer right. I didn't like the orange color. Now it's too red. How about blue? Nah,... finally yellow seemed OK. Once that problem was solved, detailed painting and shadowing went by pretty quickly:

Here he is with the resting stalker in the Jonny Quest flyer:

I used a 1/32 aircraft instrument decal for the instrument. I added red and blue marks on each side of the decal:

Jeff Fontaine sent me a Blackdog diorama base a while ago - the Cracked road with pipe base. The scale wasn't specified, but it worked well with this figure. Painting was pretty quick:

I used a mix of UV glow powders in the broken pipe:

The faceplate was painted with Vallejo color shifting paint. I found a detailed review on youtube:

I bought the Vallejo The Shifters Space Dust set on Amazon. I think it worked well - two thin layers applied with a brush to a gloss black finish and it dried quickly.

Old Wombat

That's an excellent build, Frank (even if it is mostly painting)!

And no annoying flesh tones to deal with, either!  ;)
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

That does look good, particularly the yellow overalls   They look well worn
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Great colors and nice shading! Well done!

Thanks, guys!

I thought this was going to be a quick paint job without the flesh tones! I couldn't quite match the "orange" on the boxtop and every mix I tried just didn't look like any shade of orange. Yellow is usually a tough color to paint, but it worked great here. I used a black primer (shot mainly from below to get all the shadows and folds in the uniform) followed by a white primer from above. Then I sprayed a couple of thin coats of ATOM yellow, which worked great.

Yellow is a particularly different colour to weather well ..it's a PITA for covering sometimes..other times it's brilliant.
Franky mate ya did a great job with this ..in the end  ;D  ;D
As my dad once said and I quote "We are masters of self-punishment we are son "
He couldn't be more right 😁
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Some of the highlights were done with an AK Interactive pen, then given a thin layer of the ATOM yellow.
