Quote from: PR19_Kit on December 10, 2024, 06:28:36 AMI had an email from Special Hobby today about that Chukar drone kit, but oddly they only mentioned the 1/48 version.  :-\

Bit odd Kit, but shows you one of the major benefits of 3D printing ; once you've got the "tech end design work" done, with a little bit of work you can produce it in virtually any scale.

As easy as finding the percentage to increase/decrease the print size by.

For those with deep pockets and strong arms, it must weigh a ton.

How I WISH!  ;D

My almost fave flying boat (the Princess being THE Fave....).

Interesting that one of them on the decal sheet should be 'Corsair' It made an emergency landing on a river in Africa, and they repaired it in situ over some weeks, and FLEW it out again! Amazing.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The kit dates back to 2008.

Is there a better one though, or even ANY other Empire Boat kit?

Wasn't there a vacform, back in the day?

I saw a composite (Mayo/Mercury) model at a show, a good while ago.

PR19_Kit

Oh sure, one or two Empire vacforms over time, but I think that CMK kit was the first 'hard' material kit on the market.

The late Secretary of my 'local' model club, Hilton Jones, did a Mayo Composite once, and started with a Sunderland! Mind you, he started EVERY model he did with a Sunderland I reckon, he did a C Class Empire and a G Class boat too, as well as all sorts of others, apart from 104 Starfighters he did anyway.

He was one seriously good modeller!

I knew it was a re-release, the Big H site says so, but didn't realise it was quite as old as that.
