Very nice and a neat back story. Often wondered why the DH2 didn't figure more prominently in Home Defence.

I did it ,,i finally got around to reading that dairy of  Squadron Leader George Dummet,,bloody loved it bud ,,really felt like that poor bugger was there ,,top notch work Raff mate  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

It's weird isn't it? It's like the British learned about interrupter gears and then the DH.2 disappeared overnight.
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

I'm glad you liked it old chap!
I'm currently working on a followup story and build that follows Dummet's flying career a bit further.

DO IT !!!!
I would be quite happy to read more of this dudes career ,,also what ever else he flew to and his impressions of those aircraft ...which means you gotta build those aircraft to match the story
Definitely evil intent there for me saying that  ;D  ;)

I suspect that's exactly what happened. It made aircraft with forward firing guns and large engines much more practical.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Nice, the night green paint scheme suits her well.

Glenn Gilbertson

A great idea excellently modelled, a brilliant backstory and all very plausible - well done!
I remember reading Lanoe Hawker's reminiscence that the problem with the DH.2 was that he got so cold that he almost did not care if he died or not.

Thank you very much Glenn!
I didn't know that about the DH.2 though.... perhaps a cabin heater might be an addition to the DH.2B for those long night patrols?  :o

Having jabbed Murphy in the eye with a pointy stick, I've actually managed to finish off Sqd Ldr George Dummet's follow up story and model here;

A gorgeous model and a really fantastic backstory!
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.
