PT Dockyard 1/1200 models of designs from the 1930 London Naval Conference

Over on the Secret Projects forum there were some amazing designs posted that were found in the notes from the US Navy's contingent at the 1930 London Naval Conference:

I produce a line of 1/1200 scale ship models, mostly unbuilt designs, and was very excited to find some excellent new projects. The ones covered were from the discussions at the conference about small battleships, brought on by a British proposal to limit battleships to 12" guns and 25,000 tons. In the notes were drawings of the proposed US 5.4" gun turrets, both twin and triple

Here is the Scheme 17 Battleship, 22,00 tons with 9-12" guns and 12-5.4" 22Kts. She joins the PT Dockyard line as USS Rhode Island.



Also in the notes was a design for a fast 20,000 ton battleship (30kts) with 8" belt armor and either 8 or 9 -12" guns (the notes mention both). To me this sounds like the Alaska's grandmother, more a battle cruiser or large "Cruiser Killer". She joins the PT Dockyard line as USS Bennington in keeping with the battlecruiser theme.
