Triggered by Pellson's revival of the 1957 Revell kit of SAAB Draken, I suddenly remembered, that somewhere in the corners of my dark cavern there ought to be one those kits.

After some searching I found the remains of a kit, which was started in the past century and never made to the finnish line.

To beef up these rather depressing pieces I decided go for a model of one of those fancy projects, that came out of the design bureau in Linköping – the AS 35X.

AS could very well mean Attack Spaning, but then it would need another nose insted of the "spetsig radome" (pointed radome) for the "spaning". Mayby it was planned to host the cameras and censors in underwing pods.

The conversion is moving ahead - slowly. The Draken have now lost the nose and tail. And is getting a new cockpitt adobted from a Hasegawa J-35F, which is being converted to a Sk-35C.

The wings have got their sawtooths, the cockpit have been installed and a new nose added. The nose is a ptotonose from the Heller J-35F/J-35RF/TF-35 kit.

Back at the workbench again after a trip to Paris to visit my son and his family. The tail of the AS 35X have now been modified to fit the exhaust of the J79. The J79 exhaust comes from a Hasegawa F-104J/CF-104.

This is intriguing to say the least
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
