Here we go

This with a single F404 like the F-20 had would be great.  Mini-Hornet.

Never liked the F-5 for some reason, but I quite like the look of the high wing version
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gondor

You can clearly see how they came up with the YF-17 from the high-wing F-5.

You might have heard of Americans announcing Camp Buehring in Kuwait was attacked by an F-5 on the day of the triple F-15E loss. Alleged, reported, it doesn't have the range, mistaken identity, typing error in the news release, confusion with the F-4 are among the many in various comments. Pentabon even talks of Su-7 dropping fake nuclear bombs in training in the 60s and readily removes questionable comments. (Yeah, that's probably some other pentagon.) So, did the Germans ever flew the F-5, mon ami?

Dizzyfugu

No, but Germany operated T-38s in the USA, IIRC based in Texas, and they carried US markings.

Some interesting info posted on Twitter ("X" ) re further F-20 developments that never happened:

See, 'Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings'.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Does "Tigershark 4" refer to the 4th aircraft to roll out, ie the first production example?  Or does that mean a future block altogether?  The changes from the demonstration prototypes are significant and I wonder if that was a worry to some potential customers.  There are always some snags with changes, especially elcrtonics

Not entirely sure, but I think it relates to the 4th prototype.

The main problem with selling the F-20 wasn't design changes, it was the cold-then-hot-then-cold attitude of the US government. Plenty of countries, the Aggressor squadrons and the ANG were interested, but they all ended up either buying F-16s or designing their own aircraft.

The ANG wasn't interested, Northrop pushed it at them, however despite their lobbying
it wasn't going to happen. The ANG is for all intents and purposes part of the USAF and
they weren't going to be purchasing the F-20, the ANG was standardized on the F-15
and F-16.

I still need to build my F-5F/U-2 crossover poor man's photo recon build. Polaroid camera and a sketch pad for the back seater.
