I've concluded that if and when I ever build something like this, instead of buying that Stahlhelm/Bolddivision conversion kit I would just get the cast hull Sherman kit and a 90mm M36 Jackson gun barrel and take it from there. It would save a lot of money plus the aggravation of trying to get something shipped from overseas with all this tariff confusion going on.

Raff-35, I really like your take on this but I would just have to take it the other direction.

I also like the detail of the old chalk marks on the unpainted turret ring armour.

I completely agree with you. Plus doing it yourself will give the result you picture in your head, rather than what just comes out of the box.

Variety is the spice of life,  I can't wait to see your build! Are you going to do it as a Korean War era vehicle,  thrown together during a hasty retreat? Or late WW2 scaled prototype for the T-28 super heavy?

That's an interesting concept - different from the usual captured and modified, or scrapheap lash up.
Not that there's anything wrong with them, but it's a new reasoning I hadn't considered before.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Good job mate.

Your backstory had me wondering how long since I read any Sven Hassel...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Watch 'Cross of Iron', that's close enough.

Having said that, 'Wheels of Terror' exists as a movie...

You're welcome.  ;)

Thanks! I didn't know who Sven Hassel was, so a quick Google later and Wheels Of Terror has been added to my Christmas list

I could do a story where the Soviets back out of the war for some reason which leaves the Allies facing a German Army fighting on only one front. It becomes sort of stalemate where one side gains a little ground at one area and loses ground in another area. A huge demand for anything that shoots develops and the US copies the StuG idea. Just with a bigger gun.
I'm hijacking your thread so I'll either start this project in a proper place or conclude this here.

Hijack away! I'm interested to see your ideas put to plastic.

I'll start my own thread then! Soon I hope!

In that scenario you'd definitely need the Nazis to have better tanks than the unreliable
overcomplicated heaps they were stuck with in our timeline. They'd also need a lot more
of them than they actually produced. Oh yeah, plus break Mayback's monopoly on the
supply of engines.
🤣
Also remember that tank destroyers are primarily defensive weapons, they don't do so
great on the offense.
