Tznuit nose

I've got the RV Aircraft Mirage III CJ Reconnaissance kit and lost the little plastic film that covers the LOROP camera space in the resin nose.* The Tznuit's long nose is a real looker, so l would rather build with that than the vertical camera nose also supplied in the kit.

So, l'm looking for suggestions on how to complete the nose without the film. Is there another way of making a transparency or should l just fill it in with a hard putty and paint it black? I've thought about making a protective cover for the aperture, but my measure and cut skills aren't that good.

Any ideas?

*Not that l was confident about being able to bend and adhere the film anyway.
Whatever.

Would some Glue 'n Glaze manage to fill the hole?

UV resin ..will dry ..with a UV torch clear and you can cut it a knife
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I don't know what this looks like.  How about a photo.

That's the one. It's even got the protector that l was trying with.
Whatever.

Glue 'n Glaze should work in those ports, oh yes.

Microscale's Kristal Klear is pretty good. I prefer Humbrol Clearfix though as it's very clear, but struggles with gaps more than 3mm. With both of them you run a bead around the edges of the window, let it dry, then you can form a film over it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I did all the windows in the HP42J with Glue 'n Glaze and some of those windows are over 3 mm wide. Worked a treat with a bit of fiddling with a cocktail stick. I guess it's pretty much the same stuff as the Microscale and Humbrol products.

That's tricky, because the original nose has a single large window consisting on 3 panes, used a resin conversion kit a while ago. I went with the "folded film" solution, but rather used a stiffer clear plastic sheet than the OOB film., and fixed it into place with white glue. I added a generous black frame to hide the glue stains, though.  ;)

The suggestion of UV resin has considerable merit, IMHO... just saying.
