An idea that I had when I first joined this site was to fit a 1/72 Lockheed C-130 with the engines from the Avro Shackleton MR.3, as the MR.2 and AEW.2 kits hadn't been released yet. Another characteristic was to add the rotodome from the Grumman E-2C Hawkeye to the vertical tail fin.
Ten years later and this is becoming a realty, the donor 1/72 Lockheed C-130 is the E/H/K version with the Revell Avro Shackleton AEW2 engines glued in place. The nose cone is a replacement found in the spare parts box, not the original one that came with the kit. The donor model also has the rear loading ramp in the open position and the landing gear glued on. It could have been the twin -engined version that I started to build. The photos show what the general idea should look like.
