The Rat

I curse the day I started this little fuzzy bunny. Trying to shape the hull was bad enough, but trying to get a smooth finish on it is even tougher.

Oh well, at least it's getting warm enough now that I can sit outside and do some backyard birding as well;

Here's the landing gear which will be turned into beaching gear, another thing I'm dreading. Standard Canadian 25 cent piece for size reference;

When (if?) I ever get this done I am going to party.  :party:  :cheers:

It will involve disgusting amounts of cheap alcohol.  :wacko:

It will probably be very noisy.  :o

It may even include young women disrobing to the accompaniment of music.  :wub:

There will be few survivors.  :ph34r:

Worst of all, I will very soon be taking on a similar project in a larger scale.  :(

Your Honour, we plead insanity...  :dum:

Well, take some consolation in the facts that:

a. at least the SNOW seems to be gone from YOUR neck of the Canuck woods;
b. you're eventually going to have a party with young women;
c. your camera clearly has kick-donkey macro capability!

^_^  ;)  :rolleyes:

Still some around, but fading fast!

Don't anyone breathe a word to the wife...

Actually the Kodak CX7300 has absolutely no macro capability... but I'm a creative little bugger! I have been using an old nature photography method for these extreme close-ups and within limits it works quite well. I take the standard 50mm lens from my Olympus OM system and turn it backwards. I then place it right up against the digicam lens, use the digital zoom at about 2x to reduce vignetting, and move in until the image is sharp on the preview screen. If the subject that I want doesn't fall within the rather narrow depth of field I'm screwed.

For wider shots I've used close-up filters, again just held in front of the lens. Ain't the greatest system but what the hell, it's cheap!

Notice that hose behind me? It's connected to a vat in the attic, so I have a gravity feed!  :cheers:

Pretty soon I'll be in my shorts again. Hey, when you've got legs like mine you don't cover them. That's not to say that I shouldn't... :blink:

Oh I know, there are lots of them over here working as strippers.

At least, that's what I've heard...  ^_^

Yeah, those are the ones not good looking enough to make it on the domestic market here :lol:

Seriously, though, the girls here are mostly knockouts and 10s. Took me months to calm down my roving eyeball after I first got here :wub:
