I could have sworn I made an entry of this build during 2024. But can't find it.  Anyway, what if Fokker created a light bomber based on the earlier G I?

A high brass officer in the 1930-ies in Dutch Army having too much influence skills and a very strong opinion about the need to protect the country as the enemies were all around the low counties. Being very influential helped this officer a lot in this career, but being suspicious and narrowminded without being criticized lead to spectacular weird and megalomaniac projects like the Fokker T IX (geschakeld). High priority was given to not only defend the country but also have a modest offensive agenda. That's how Fokker was asked to create a bomber version of the recent Fokker G I. For the G V ( or G5) the wings, engines, tail booms and tail sections were copied from the G I. Only the fuselage was different.

Given it's bombload is was considerable slower than the G I and needed to defend itself by adding a defensive positions on top and front, besides the tail gun carried over from the G I. Especially the front position (being a single 0.303) was considered too vulnerable and was later replaced by a Frazer-Nash turret and a second 0.303. Adding weight and causing it to slow down even more. Another drawback was the limited bombload it could carry making it a light bomber in stead of a medium.

It's a MPM Fokker G I with changed fuselage ( it's transparent fuselage was smashed to pieces, that's how I got it cheap). From front to rear:  Turret and front part of the fuselage is donated by an Airfix  Wellington. Cockpit, canopy and centre section ( shortened) was donated by a Ki-48 Lily and mated to a Il-4 front for it's rear section.

Another great build, David!

Pity you didn't add the Wimpy's tail turret, too!

An absolutely excellent kitbash there David.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Another corker - you're on a roll, aren't you?

That's SO credible, especially because it's far from a perfect concept: there were so many ideas knocking around at that time that were technically interesting but tactically flawed, just because almost nobody had any up-to-date experience.
