my freightdog P1154 gets a USMC finish now.

If you check the SIG notes in the Downloads, you should find a reference to the USN looking at the AV-8C for Carrier Close support for when they are unable to use CATOBAR aircraft such as near port.

Also in BSP the USN were going to be a customer for AV-16.

Gives you a different option fo the usual DSG/DG scheme

What are the blunt nosed objects that it's carrying on the wing pylons?  Drop tanks or Napalm bombs?

Napalm.  Think they're BLU-27 with the nose and tail caps removed.
