Find the mockingbirds:

Indeed.  Scheme 7 is what I've gone for as per joncarrfarrelly's link and the one I posted up earlier.
I've seen the Yorktown pic before and there are 2 non-Barclay scheme TBD-1s on the deck.

Just looked at this photo again and there are three.
Almost done, canopy masking was a pig and the paint has required a lot of touching up.  The actual airframe was fairly straightforward, however.  Looking back on the thread I think I'm tempted to find a cheapo 2nd-hand Skua and follow up the notion of a razzle dazzle finish based upon British colours.
Hope to have the Devastator done by the end fo this week, so pics to follow.

Finally done.  A fairly tenuous whif given that I changed my mind about national markings and decided to do it 'real world'.  Whiffery in the shape of the torpedo fitted and a 'guesstimate' on the colours and actually where these were applied.  Still, hope you like it.

Looks great!  Love the stripes & the kit holds up reasonably well despite the rivets!

It's a real treat to see that famous camo pattern rendered so artistically! Excellent work, kitbasher!

I like the way you replicated the "Barclay" scheme. Seems, though, that in a war an unmarked (i.e. no obvious national markings to be seen) aircraft would risk getting shot down by EITHER side!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Very generous comments chaps, thank you.  Sequoiaranger's right - national markings would have been a must in a war.  Real Barclay whiffing would have been to add 1940-style national markings, of course.  Imagine rows of Scheme 7 and Scheme 8 TBDs on carrier decks at the time of Pearl Harbor - mad!
Anyway, here's the three reference photos I found for Scheme 7 alongside which are B+W versions of my TBD photos - posing is deliberate!
