So, er... these 'intakes':

...well they're not intakes for a start. One set covers an exhaust vent above the jetpipes (and are too big), the other pair bear almost no resemblance whatosever to the rather complex shape of the flap blowing relief vents on the upper fuselage behind the wing. They seem an odd few items to replace in resin given what else in the 1/48 kit is desperately in need of fixing! And what about the missing oil breather exhausts on the upper fuselage?

Not the first time the add-on industry has produced 'improvements' that aren't really improvements. And it needs real experts to tell if they actually needed of course, most of us don't know everything.

You can fool some of the people all the time and you can fool all of the people some of time, but you CAN'T fool all of the people all of the time!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I don't remember how these parts were rendered in the kit (sold mine when the 1/72 kits became available again), but Quickboost doesn't necessarily correct kit parts. In case of air scoops like these, they seem to offer resin replacements that have the intakes drilled out so you don't have to. The many piston engine exhausts they do go in the same direction. Simple improvements for a modest sum.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?
