Yep, that's the trooth. I be headed for the Australia with my lady friend. She has a psyc conference in Melbourne mid March and invited me to join her. So if anyone is near or in the area please tell me do and lets get together to swap lies and drink Forresters. And if you can suggest anything to do there please do as well. We'll have a few days to ourselves to enjoy but for the most part I'll be on my own during most of the days. Suggestions welcome. (staying at the Rendevouz Hotel)

I never got to Melbourne when I was living in Oz, but I do know this - there is no city in Australia, and possibly the world, with a better night life than Melbourne.

Whatever tickles your fancy - opera, rock, dance, blues, theatre, comedy, sports, dining, drinking - you name it, you can do it in Melbourne.  Victorians are well known for (and proud of) the fact that they have a great "going out" culture.  It was very noticable to me when I lived there the fact that the majority of their bands and actors were from Melbourne.

You have to got to go to the RAAf Museum Point Cook.

Zoo is pretty good. Dandenong ranges and the puffing billy steam train ride is worth a ride. Melbourne also has the best public transport system of any Australian City which makes it easy to get around.

Well, John (aka Maverick) is down that way, he might be available.  If I am down that way with work, I will try to catch you - what are the specific dates you will be in country?

Greg

I'm about 2 or 3 hours out of Melbourne depending on where you are.  I had lived there for about 20 years or so and can attest to it's cosmopolitan lifestyle, but don't go back unless it's absolutely necessary, too 'big city' for me.
