There is a Nova 1/72 Tu-22 vacform sitting on a hook down at the hobby shop, and I was wondering about it.  I was very tempted, but thought that caution was the better part of valor.

Has anyone here cut their teeth on one of these?  I did a cursory search on the web for a build-up or review, but came up with next to nothing.  Any input would be great. . .

Run away, fast!  Get yourself an ESCI/Italeri Blinder and be MUCH happier in life.  It's not the greatest kit ESCI ever did (in fact, along with their abortion F-27 it's what spelled their demise), but it's a sight better than the Nova vacuform from the 1970s.

Thanks.  Now you've gone and made me want to try it. . . LOL

I actually built one of those.  It must have been at least 25 years ago (long before ESCI's).  It's a pretty basic vacuform as I remember.  It took a fair amount of fiddling and putty to get the engine pods right.  There was a writeup in a Scale Modeler magazine in the November 1976 issue about building this kit.  That was what inspired me to give it a go.  It's definitely a challenge, if you like that sort of thing.
We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
