A couple of recent discussions about close air support aircraft had me googling prop-driven close air support aircraft proposed in the past.

Mostly photoes.  Few had names attached, and I have a hard time finding projected performance figures......

So I think I'll post pics I have found so far, hoping knowledgeable folks would identify them as to whether they were real paper project or just a figment of enthusiasts' imaginations...... and, if they were indeed historical proposals, their projected figures on dimensions, armament (both fixed and disposable) fits, and performance figures (such as takeoff performance- I'm kinda interested as to if any of them can takeoff from through-deck LHDs like OV-10 can- and loiter time)......

So here goes......
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

This one seems to be called Aeroprogress T-720

Now this ain't pusher-prop, but it still looks interesting...... (for the Russian Army?)

This one I know absolutely nothing about.

Was this thing a real paper project?

BAe's Small Agile Battlefield Aircraft (primarily a helicopter killer, but a bit further down its target list on the "British Secret Projects" book are tanks, and one doesn't just use AAMs and cannons to take out tanks, no?)

Once again, this is not a pusher-prop, but is this artist impression of T-6 Texan II close to what tinlail had in mind for an assault carrier aircraft?

You'll find some of these and others in one of the BSP books, I think they are in the Bombers since 1950 one.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

The model in the first post is the Sukhoi S-46 project. This was based on the Su-25 and appears to use Su-25 wings and nose mated to a new fuselage and V-tail. It had pusher contra-props powered by two TV-7-117 turboprop engines. As far as I know, it remained a project. I think that there are some more details and a 3-view drawing on the Secret Projects site.

Yes it is.

Some sexy looking designs there!  A turboprop version of the PZL-230 Skorpion was proposed:

Pic borrowed from our freinds at Secret Projects.

I do remember hearing that the Scaled Composites ARES was originally designed with a pusher prop, although I think it was quite a different beast from the actual prototype.  I've only got pictures of the aircraft that flew:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
