Awhile back now, I can't remeber when it was, Jennings did a really sweet profile of a Boeing P3B-1 Stratohunter.

This was an ASW patrol aircraft wiffed on a KC-135

Well recently I have trawling through my local libraries back collection of Janes all World Aircraft and sending the intersting stuff through to Maverick.

During this search I came across the Boeing 707 LRPA (Long Range Patrol Aircraft).

It was offered to Canada as an Argus replacement.  It was in Jane's of 1974-75, I'll put the deatials up when i can get the pages scanned in.

As a taster it had 2 MAD booms mounted of the wing tips, the instillation was trialled on a second hand 707-320c that Boeing had purchased.
