Does anyone know if there are significant Hawker Siddeley documents in the Brooklands Museum or elsewhere describing the appearance of the prototype HS 1154 in the same way as the BAC drawings on the TSR2 site showing the likely camouflage scheme for that aircraft planned by BAC?

There is a model and a painting of HS 1154 showing the camouflage, but otherwise I know of nothing else. Maintrack gave a camo scheme with their model, but I do not know where they got it from.

HS 681 is of course straightforward as the models all show the standard RAF Transport Command scheme of the 60s.

I had an enquiry about HS 1154 in this vein which I could not answer, but knowing the range of expertise on this site, someone might.

I would speculate there isn't.  The TSR2 was about 4 years ahead of the P1154 in development - Air Ministry plans were for the TSR2 to enter service in 67 and the 1154 in 71.  The TSR2's camouflage scheme would have been painted onto some of the prototype and development aircraft then under construction and its shape was pretty well determined.  At cancellation, the 1154 design was still quite immature and the mock-ups still subject to change.

It is a bit like sqn numbers - the decisions just hadn't been taken before the programmes were cut.  We can extrapolate, given the shape of Harrier GR1 camouflage compared to the size and shape of the 1154.

The display model & illustration of the 1154 (see http://www.harrier.org.uk/history/history2_3.htm ) both show regular camouflage for the period, although Spec. SR.250D&P mentions the underfuselage being bare metal.

There was another model, which had the undercarriage out. The picture I have seen shows it on a glass/mirror top table and the undersides are clearly painted.

The prototypes were likely to be bare metal. Presumably the BS.100 would not have been as colourful as here: http://www.harrier.org.uk/history/history_p1154.htm

I have trawled all the Brooklands stuff, and only found mention of the bare metal prototypes that I can recall.

My own interpretation can be seen elsewhwere on this forum: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...showtopic=13409

One of the BS100's is at Yeovilton. But the 1154RN model wasn't on show :(
