B-1 at the shop...

Ok guys I need some advices for a difficult negociation.

Every time I go to to the shop, I see that big B-1 model hanged at the ceiling. It is a bit degraded (front undercarriage is missing) but I could cure this... if only I could buy it!

The other day I asked to the woman at the cash register, but she explained me that it was only an exposition model, not for sale... <_<

But there's aparently an old man which seems to be there, I'm asking if he is not the owner... next time, I have to ask him.
But how ? I lack experience in negociating this kind of thing, and it is complicated by the fact that the model is a bit degraded, and I ignore the price (considering the size of the beast I would say that it's 1/72 scale).

I need advices... If I manage to have this B-1, it could be change in a cool whatif :)

Archie, firstly I'd check on the the net how much the kit would cost you to buy brand new so you've got an idea when you ask.  Then ask the bloke how much he is willing to sell it for.  You can then negotiate, if he asks to much you can say you can get one brand new cheaper & without bits missing (he may not be aware how much it is or may be trying it on).  If he's not willing to negotiate, say thank you, & walk away.  Get an idea in you're head how much you want to spend, don't go over your maximum.

Start by telling him you'd like a crack at refurbishing the model for him.....bring it back to it's former glory !
