My own contribution to the TSR-2 effort...

Ok, I know it was rejected from the beginning as infeasible. I mean, feating a huge Blue Steel on a TSR-2. But I wanted to see if possible!
Its mainly because I have the Airfix Vulcan with a splendid missile (plan to buy a load of Humbrol 250 to make a Granby Vulcan with mavericks, AIM-9, and HARM)

In brief, I managed to fit that damned blue Steel under the TSR-2 (semi recessed) but I understand perfectly why the RAF rejected the plan! I have to scrap a small part between the airbrakes, and move the undercarriage doors to the side. also slighty modify the "bay" above the bomb bay (electronics?)
(of course, as with the vulcan B2, bob bay doors are gone!
Here's the result

In every case, and quite surprisingly, there iss enough ground clearance without modifying the main undercarriage.

PS I also have changed the nose. Its a 2000 l drop tank from a Mirage 2000N.

It is linked to real world... in the early 60's, the blue steel just entered service. now, it was not compatible with the TSR-2...and the Vulcan were aeging. the result was the need for a new nuclear cruise missile (blue water?) even increasing costs of the TSR-2!
Now, by fitting the blue steel on the TSR-2, maybe things could have been quite different...

Very interesting Archie, reminds me of those hunking great nuclear missiles the Ruskies used to sling under their bombers, with a touch of RAF Lancasters carrying Tallboys and Grand Slams

You mean get ride off the bomb bay doors to carry a huge thing .
The russkies had a Tu-95 like that (Tu-95V if I remember well) . It carried the worst nuclear bomb ever (60Mt!) in 1961.
