Yes, it's gonna be real-world, but I love showing my stuff to you guys. ARC never looked at my stuff, same on FSM, and I'm over the Modeling Madness forums.

McDonnell Douglas A-4P Skyhawk

This is the Airfix 1:72 A4D kit which I built some time ago...............as an Argentine one, minus decals. Then, after seeing The Sum Of All Fears, I added some green and Stars of David and called it Israeli.

Now, with parts I know will never be used on my Italeri A-4E/F (which will now become one of several F-19 Mosquitos), she is set to become C-228, one of the aircraft which attacked HMS Fearless on June 8 1982. I've added aerials, lumps, bumps, the A-A refueling probe and pylons.

I'm building Fearless too. Later, though.

To date I've only finished one Falklands model - Airfix's 1:72 Super Etendard (what a score that one was!):

To the best of my knowledge it was this bird that sunk HMS Ardent on May 4.

Updates on Senor Skyhawk as they happen. Apologies once more for the leack of whiffery, but hey, you guys seem to like my work!

Looks like the 'Hawk neds a re-paint :P...although I do love the "used" look!

Dig the Super Duck too!
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Wow Zac fantastic work! I really like the Super Etendard! The paintjob on the A-4 is incredibly convincing! Real or not, these builds of yours are an impressive display of your talent and modelling skill.  B)

That's very kind Brian, but, um, I will be repainting the Skyhawk. Note the "weathered" appearance.

That's because I tried to sand all the paint off so I could really start anew. But it didn't quite work. However, adding the bits and bobs to the Airfix kit has made it immeasurably better. SO DAMNED COOL! I;m so very excited about this build.

Thanks both for your kind words ( B) ), fingers crossed once tomorrow's over I'll be able to get her ready for final finish. Look forward to seeing you there!

Ollie

Zac, you are slowly getting there buddy, keep up the good work!

:D

K5054NZ

And she's done! No backstory as she's real, hopefully my next build will be a whif.

This is the old Airfix kit with several bits from the Italeri A-4E/F and even a Lavochkin La-9!

You may recognise this pic, I've tried to re-create one on an A-4P (or maybe C?) refueling from a C-130.

Enjoy!

Always liked the A-4 in Falklands markings (and Israeli).
Looks really good Zac.
I will check my stash to see if there are any bombs for you.

Cheers Phil!

Here's another pic - with our next project in the making in the background.................yes, Lana started her Italeri F4U-4 today! It'll be in Kiwi markings, so it'll also be a whif!

I'll get Lana to start doing progress pics on the Corsair (her all-time favourite aircraft type BTW) when she can. Thus far the cockpit, undercarriage and other miscellany are painted.

Brian da Basher

Wow that Scooter is absolutely killer in those Argie markings Zac! That's one sweet build! And now lovely Lana has started on a project too? A duo of uber-talented Kiwi modellers?

Gosh I wish I had stock in a milo company over there.

Off to macrame.com now. With all this talent I gotta find a new hobby!

Looking good Zac

Pretty gasbags too :P

Now all you need to do is take that other A-4 ya got, scratch the IR suppresor on the tailpipe and other dodads, and you'll have a A-4H/N!

I was going to ask which "Corsair" was Mistress Lana's all-time favorite but then I saw the sprues in the background:  good girl!!!!!!!!!!!

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I love that Super E Zac!  And the sillouete pics...superb!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Ollie

Whoa Zac, looking good!

Those are some good looking birds Zac. B) I'm especially fond of the Scooter. One of my all time favorite aircraft.  Fast little SOBs. I remember one "sneeking" up on us while I was on the Ranger, spraying pine scented "chem agent" on us to simulate a chem attack by Iraqi force during our work up to Desert Storm, but I digress. Great photos as well, Zac. Keep up the good work! :)
