A little birthday modelling

Well, it's been entirely too long since I put steel to styrene, so I took advantage of a relaxing day at home to get something moving on the workbench.

No pics yet, but today I assembled the fuselage of an AMT A-7E.  Not the best kit and the cockpit fit was terrible, but it's mostly together now and doesnt look too bad.  I wanted a quick build to finish in a few days, both as a warmup for the One Week Build and because I may be heading out of town for several days towards the end of the week.  

Since I've never really liked the look of the A-7 on the ground I closed up the gear bays and will post it inflight on a stand.

The backstory and markings?  Well, that weill have to wait until tomorrow when I have a picture or two to post.

It certainly is nice to be building a model again though!
