I've posted these pics of the Boeing GPX proposal on behalf of Chuck Anderson who was having a few problems posting. I'll let him fill you in with all the gory details of where he got them from etc. Interesting pics

Hi Everyone!
Chuck Anderson here!!

Thank you so much Chris for helping me out on the posting of these illustrations!  I REALLY appreciate it!

I received the two illustrations of the NEWEST versions of the Boeing GPX (the in-flight illustration and the three-view) directly from the Boeing Historian's Office, in answer to a specific inquiry I made about this aircraft type.

In writing to the Boeing Historian (Mr. Lombardi), I mentioned that I wanted to eventually make accurate scale models and/or illustrations of the Boeing GPX, and in his reply to me he seemed quite interested in receiving this type of information.

I can safely assume that he'd be interested in seeing photos of accurate scale models and/or illustrations of this aircraft from MANY people (not just from me), so perhaps we have a good place (the Boeing Historian's Office) to send this information to.
Of course, it would also be interesting to see people's ideas for this aircraft posted on the What-If website as well.

I got the "in-flight" artist's conception of the 1st version of this aircraft, from a copy I made of the illustration in a 1980's issue of Aviation Week & Space Technology that I found in a visit to my local public library.

Both versions of this aircraft seemed very interesting, with a LOT of What-If potential.

Now, as far as my own take on this aircraft (both versions), I was thinking of something like:

(!) Something in current U.S. Navy colours and markings, and/or
(2) A license-built, much improved version (or versions), perhaps in Royal Navy or RAF colours and markings.

Any other ideas????

See ya'!

WHOA! Some seriously cool stuff there Chuck. That #2 jobbie looks like a scaled down B-47, might be a starting point for a model.

Chuck,

Nice find - as for other potential operators, you could probably add Australia.

Hi Everyone!

I think that a diorama or illustration of GPX's on the flightline would be pretty interesting.  I imagine that doing a walkaround for either maintenance or a pre-flight inspection of this aircraft would be quite something.  That's a LOT of airplane!

And the hangars for sheltering this aircraft would have to be spacious as well.

The differences in colours (including various camouflage schemes) and markings of GPX's in Navy and Air Force versions, (as well as those in service with other nations) would make a good study.
