No date given there, but I'm assuming it's from 1930-something.  Looks somewhat like a Stuka crossed with an Avenger.  It's definitely an idea for someone.

Specification issued 1940 thus the number E.28/40.

For the purpose intended, I can see a spatted gear instead of a retractible one, the aircraft likely wouldn't be fast enough for it to matter.  I'd bet, though, that the gear would be more exposed in operational use simply to ease maintenance and improve reliability.

QuoteAh, the Folland "Frightful".  Magna do it as a complete kit.  A friend has one built and he's doing it as a torpedo bomber.  Can't be any worse than a Barracuda.
Do they still do it Lee ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I was reading about this in the new issues of Air-Britian magazines I get. There's also reference to this aircraft in Tony Buttler's book  B.S.P.-Fighters & Bombers 1935-1950.  It's the Folland Fo.115 and Fo.116.  Both listed in the book as 'Research Aircraft'

The Barracuda though was a bit earlier in the time frame being under Specification S.24/37.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Hmmm, Barracuda crossed with S.6B maybe?
