Planes a go-go

So I know I've taken what could be generously described as a hiatus, but I had some new wacky ideas and thought I'd at least share the in progress stuff.

This is the 1/48th Hustler that will some day be the 1/48th Avro Lancer.  I finally figured out the engine pods, and I'm starting to figure out the central cabin assembly.



This is my newish idea.  Okay, it's an SR-71 in 1/72nd scale.  Currently that is...



See the plan is to fit it together like this with the neck shortened as in the pic.



But you can't see the cool bit in that pic, which is that the neck is attached back upside down so that all that neat bumpy stuff is now on the bottom and not the top.  Next phase, remove the seperator between the two cockpits, drop in a 1/48th scale tub, fair in all the bumps, and rescale this sucker as one mean to the bone single seat, tri-sonic interceptor.

Damn that Avro Lancer looks a lot like a Typhoon at this stage.

Looks like a great start on both.

I had an idea a while back for an SR-71 with the nose tucked all the way back to the delta shape. I am actually watching an auction right now so I can do it
