Thanks guys! Captain, the thought of mounting some self-defence missiles on the aircraft certainly crossed my mind and may happen.
Some ECM pods and chaff/flare dispensers may make the cut as well.

I figure this bird can be orbiting in the Timor Sea keeping an eye on our northern neighbours while being available for "desperation" top-ups if needed.

Who needs resin conversions when you have a stock of sheet styrene? :P

Tony that is really coming together nicely! I love that cool radar dome and the ventral stabs! That is one beeee-yootiful bird! The dual-use role is an excellent concept! Love the progress you're making. There is something compelling about that sidewinder idea.

I always thought it would have been pretty funny if the Argie 707s had them, and turned the tables on the RAF Nimrod and shot one of them down ! Or it could have been a stalemate, with both birds going down !

Definitely going to have some missiles but I may go with AMRAAMS or Sparrows rather than Sidewinders if only because the 'winders look a little lost under the wings of a 707 sized aircraft.

Some scabbed on flare dispensers on the engine pylons make sense to me from a survivability point of view as well, but all they will take will be some appropriately shaped wedges of plastic. The ARII weapon sets comes with some ECM pods as well, maybe one of them will add some detail to the underwing area.

Of course, if I made it a Littoral Defence Patrol aircraft, I would then have an excuse to strap some Harpoons under there as well.... ;)
