Windscreen/nose glazing:

I was thinking that the canopy might be modified from a 1/144 scale B-29 or like Evan suggested, a 1/72nd scale B-29.

Engines:

Would the engines have been the same as what was used on the Meteor or would they have been scaled up a bit?

Colours:

I like the black underside WWII night bomber scheme but that post war black/grey scheme looks wicked as well.  Either scheme will do just as long as it is black on the bottom...

Now if you could just give it a set of bulged bomb bay doors for one of those 12K pound HC monster bombs or the Tall Boy.

one other possibility for the cockpit occurs to me, Mike.  How about using the one from the Special Hobby Me264, either taken directly or "cloned"?

Mike,

I like it and want to see more.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

The engine pods look a lot like the Nene engine pods used under the wings of the Rolls Royce "Nene Lancaster". I have an old copy of a conversion article from Aircraft Modelworld where the builder converted a Frog Gloster Whittle to an engine pod by sectioning it. Would that work?

oooh yes please Joe!  :D

Wooks, I'm using the fuselage as it is, as far as I'm concerned it's close enough to look right & I'm lazy  ;)

might have to get some balsa now...
