The Avro Penzance

Originally designed as P.44/231, the Penzance was possibly the worst Avro design, ever! It was suggested that the only Lancaster never built was a flying boat, and Avro would build one.
The Penzance name was never chosen be their crews, (3 prototypes built) they referred to it as 'The Table Duck', meaning it was not meant to fly, beyond 'short hops'!
This photo shows the second prototype over The West Indies, shortly before it crashed on landing.
By 1946, what aircraft were left, were scraped....................

Modifications: Float from 1/72 Norseman and a few bits and pieces.

I agree with Alvis: it is so ugly :( , so pleasant :D ... We try and try again to identify what changed from the rather beautiful source :P  to this weird shape :P , possible however :lol: . This is a Masterpiece, congratulations, Glenn. :)
