QuoteWhere did the nose come from exactly?

It looks a bit like a Tornado.

Geoff_B

Yeap Hobbes its a Tornado nose that has been wedged to make it wider to fit the profile of the F-111 nose. The B nose provided in the Revell TFX kit is of no use as it is designed for the F-111B initial prototypes where the radar was placed imeediately infront of the cockpit, The actual aircraft had an equipment bay that housed the electronics and the Refuelling probe. The F-111M is based upon the origianl K airframe with the longer refuelling probe and the AA radar mounted in place of the AG system with a shorter radome.

Ollie i think Todd would prefer the Pale Blue and Pink scheme ado[ted by the RAF rather than the grey as used by the USAF.

spectacular Thor - love her to bits, despite the fact that she would mean that my beloved tornado f3 would never have been!

thoroughly plausible, and the radar and weapons fit would have been ideal (certainly better than that of the phantom and sparrow/skyflash).

great stuff!
