SP, I've stopped trying to brush Tamiya for that reason - I've not yet had good results; though others have, so YMMV.
I do like the MM and Vallejo acrylics, and they seem* to be pretty durable.

*Though I have had them strip right off when I brushed Gunze Clear over, so again, YMMV.

That's a shame, Kit, totally understandable.  Same for the Monsoon.
