This was originally started two years ago, based on a NOVO Barracuda.  Pretty rapid progress and then it went into the part-build box.  Once the Downfall GB was added to this year's GB schedule I decided to revive it in the background of the GB - it was too far down the build road for it to be considered for the GB, especially as I'm one of the mods and had to be squeaky clean when it came to admitting part-builds (or not).

Anyway, the build is officially revived!

The Centaurus cowling (not seen here) plus prop was originally going to come from a PM Sea Fury but I think they'll now be donated by the Special Hobby Sea Fury I'm prepping for a Hawker P.1030 build.

More to follow - have set the closing date for the Downfall GB as the deadline to get this done by.

Oh yes, I'm all for radial engined 'cudas.

They're SO logical for an essentially FAA aircraft.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I'd let you enter that.  You seem to be taking modding very seriously.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

I second that. Its barely looked at, for crying out loud.
(Also, I have a similar Barracuda looking to get a Sabre engine up front. One day.. )
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Go for it!  Yours can be in the Downfall GB, mine won't be (as explained).

 A little progress today.

New pilot instrument panel, wheel wells partially boxed, a little bit of cockpit canopy work.

The Not The Op Downfall GB Hellcat is taking the lead down the construction path; will continue chipping away at the Barra, which is #2 in the build hierarchy.
