Ilyushin il-62 AEW

I've got the 1/100 VEB/PlayStar/PlayFix  il-62 'Classic ' airliner model kit and I'm attempting to change certain parts so that they resemble the Vickers VC10.
The Vickers had submitted maritime and AEW versions of the VC10 to the Air Ministry but as far as I'm aware no prototypes or flying concepts were built but a VC10 was fitted with a underwing pannier,the panniers would have carried stores and weapons.
I'm not too sure if the Ministry of Defence UK were considering buying secondhand il-62s for in-flight refuelling purposes to supplement the VC10 fleet .

The build

The parts need to be trimmed before fitting due to flash but the two fuselage halves aren't the same length. Gluing I have found needs to be done in sections to reduce the gaps underneath,
the T-tail stub has been shortened to get a better fit.
I have noticed that there's a distinct lack of glazing for the windows in the secondhand kit I purchased from eBay. Klearfix or something similar will be used.
A rummage in the spares box should give me another nose wheel as one is missing. PSR continues, otherwise its a good kit. It comes with a stand and you'll need nose weight if it's free standing.

I'm leaving the sawtooth in but cut the landing lights back so that they are recessed into the wings. I think the kit resembles the early prototype and not the il-62M production model due to the photos online.
