Not much happening - bad news elsewhere kind of hit me for six yesterday - but I did manage to get some primer on.

Which revealed lots of tiny pinholes in the resin, both the P.38 and the green stuff, as well as lots of other tiny imperfections in the tailplanes. It also highlighted a misalignment in the tailplanes which is now fixed. S another coat of primer tomorrow and I'll fix that chip in the starboard wing. Then I need to rescribe the ailerons in, add the guns, and get the first coat of paint on.

The jet Wyvern is also slowly moving ahead. The ailerons are now scribed in place and the guns are fitted. Again, these are Tamiya Mosquito rocket warheads repurposed.

I've yet to scribe in anything on the engine, because where do they go? The drawings I have are sectional, with no indication as to placement, so anything I can come up with is best guesstimate. So, leave them off and hope that the dark low demarcation scheme hides the lack of them, or add something completely wrong?

This seems to have moved faster than I thought it might. The Sky went on underneath a few days back, with a second coat going on earlier to make sure the u/c bays were done. Then, because I had some Extra Dark Sea Grey in the airbrush after doing the Eagle Wyvern spinner, I did some of the top to use it up. I'm at the dregs of my last bottle of the Xtracrylic stuff and don't want to waste any if I can help it. My LHS *might* have some, but I haven't been down to see Frank for some time due to issues with a former friend.*

Anyway, a quick masking session to cover the lower surfaces and the upper surfaces are done. Well, they would have been until I remembered I needed to rescribe the rudder lines. I shall fix that tomorrow and a quick second coat.

I need to sort out some u/c doors and clean up the Aeroclub legs that have been kicking about for some time. I did cast the wheels a few weeks back and they got their hubs blasted with some Aluminium yesterday. Quick sanding and then I can start painting them. I do need to go hunting for a canopy, but there might be a spare in the CMR Wyvern S4 kit as IIRC they gave you early and late canopies. The same kit may also yield a torpedo, but I'd rather steal it from the Trumpeter one in the loft.

*I say former as the last time I spoke to him, he was lionising the IRA as "freedom fighters". No, they were murderous gangsters and terrorists and I've had family and friends on the receiving end, thanks. He's entitled to his opinion, true. I'm entitled not to have to listen to such mealy mouthed bollards and also to not have to associate with such people.

OK Moderators hat on.

I'm not going to disagree with you regarding your opinions ( some people know about my own "close encounters" with both the IRA and Jihyadists) but can we leave this where it is and not take it any farther please. I do not want to get into the "one mans etc" discussion.
